- William Shakespeare
ABOUT ME
My interest in mental health and counselling started during my own journey to wellness. I found along the way that I was fascinated with how the brain develops and functions. Before becoming a Cognitive Behaviour therapist, I worked as a meditation and breath work teacher. I also trained and worked as a Reiki practitioner.
I have experience working as a counsellor with large charities, likes Well-Being Scotland, where I worked with a wide range of people and difficulties.
I value respect, empathy and honesty in my life and in my practice. These values are the building blocks of creating bonds with others in life. And in counselling, they nurture the very important therapeutic bond.
I am also a very creative person, I love working with my hands and creating art mainly in the form of jewellery.
ABOUT MY THERAPY
I am a qualified CBT therapist. I have a deep passion to help others with their mental health and wellbeing. I studied at The Centre Of Therapy in Edinburgh, where I trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and gained a SQFC level 10 (honours degree) diploma in counselling & group work.
I am a registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and my practice is overseen by the BACP's code of ethics to ensure that it adheres to professional counselling standards.
I bring warmth and empathy to every session while providing a non-judgemental environment for my clients to talk and explore their thoughts, behaviours and emotions.
I believe in a client-centered approach to counselling. This means that I work collaboratively with you to create a treatment plan that meets your unique needs and goals. We draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy, to help you achieve your desired outcomes.
